2016 Grand Prize Winner

An alumnus of the renowned Asian Film Academy (AFA), Ce Ding made his TVC directorial debut at the age of 23 and never looked back. His directing talent made him incredibly sought after by iconic brands such as Samsung, Digi, TM, Astro, CIMB, Axiata, Honda, Perodua and many more.

TV commercials aside, Ce Ding has directed numerous independent short films. His production, ‘Hawa’, won the BMW Shorties 2016 grand prize as well as the Best Director Award and Best Screenplay Award. With the RM75,000 production grant, Ce Ding directed ‘The Masseuse’. The film has been screened at several film competitions worldwide. Within 2 weeks, the short film had generated 1 million organic views on YouTube. Since then, The Masseuse’s rights were acquired by Hollywood powerhouse Miramax Studio, with plans to develop it into a feature film. 

In 2022, he wrote and directed his short film "Please Hold the Line”. The short film has since received international acclaim and premiered globally at the 79th Venice Film Festival, one of the largest and most influential film festivals in the world.
