2022 Grand Prize Winner

Understanding that filmmaking will not be an easy life career to pursue still did not hinder Syahmi Norsan from pursuing it further, as it has always been his ambition. With a diploma in multimedia in hand, Syahmi gained his experience in filmmaking, learning from his peers and the projects he has worked on. His short film, Fasa, is his first-ever short film and he is already looking forward to writing a new script for a new project.

“Filmmaking has always been more than visual art to me; it inspires my life and the people around it. Making Fasa actually taught me a lot as a director and has set the standard for me. I plan to stick to my goal to make more films and content. Hopefully, one day I will direct my first-ever feature film.” Currently, Syahmi is working on his BMW-funded film.
