Ikram Haizammuri is a Malaysian independent filmmaker based in Kuala Lumpur and Kuantan. A graduate of Multimedia University, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Animation and Visual Effects in 2022, which provided a strong foundation for his career in the cinematic arts. Ikram's journey in the film industry has been marked by his innovative spirit and entrepreneurial drive. He co-founded a startup that specializes in production and digital marketing that reflects his commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology and creative storytelling.
Before participating in the BMW Shorties in 2023, Ikram was a member of the visual effects (VFX) team for the celebrated local horror film "Talbis Iblis," which was released in 2022. In 2023, Ikram's dedication to visual storytelling led him to create the short film "All Who Leave Go There" which made waves at the BMW Shorties 2023, earning the Best Director award and making him the Grand Prize Winner of the competition that year. Following this success, his subsequent work "Ni Hao" was recognized as one of the Top 10 winners at the Canon Short Film Contest 2023, co-organized by Tourism Malaysia.
Ikram's new BMW-funded film "Sometimes Feels Like Summer" marked a stylistic departure from his usual contemporary approach, marking his growth into different film styles and creative experimentation. Ikram Haizammuri continues to not only entertain but also challenges audiences by pushing the boundaries of independent filmmaking in Malaysia, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative storytelling techniques to the fore.
